and as you know, at the obama rallies they are shouting "four more years, four more years" and i heard you, we are shouting "four more days, four more days." we are so grateful to you and frankly people across the country for all that you have done and they have done to give yourselves to the campaign. as you though, this is is not about just paul and me, but this is about america, and it is about the future that we will leave to our children. we thank you. we ask you to stay at it all of the way to the finish line, because we are going to win on tuesday night. you know, the closing hours of a campaign have a dynamic all their own. a lot of voters have known for some time who they were going to vote for, but there are others who are just now putting aside the demands of the daily life and considering how their vote will affect their own life, the life of their children and of course the course of the country that we love. we ask them and you to look beyond the speeches and the attacks and the ads. look to the record. to the accomplishments and the failures and the judgments. words are

to not take the country over the fiscal cliff. if one party gets a big idealogical victory, they'll want to go over the cliff and see if they can roll in the new year. here's what's important. we talked to all of the swing voters. you get the frustration about the hyperpartisanship, the division, and real frustration about the deficit and debt. can we get a balanced bipartisan plan? that's going to require both sides to give. that sense of being able to give a little bit has been missing. >> let's talk a little bit about if mitt romney wins, about the fiscal cliff. >> harry reid said the other day he would not work with a president romney if he was elected. that bipartisanship mitt romney is talking about would not be achieved. in effect, what he would do is what the republicans have done to president obama. every action creates an equal and opposite reaction. that's what promised by the democrats. that cycle of insightment that spirals on. >> i hope it gets solved. we'll talk more about the fiscal cliff and why the politicians ar

number one, tackling the long-term debt crisis in this country. you do it with a balance of higher taxes on wealthier households, which is what president obama wants, or do you do it almost basically entirely by cutting spending, which is what mitt romney wants? number one. number two, health care. should there be a larger expanded government role to insure that everyone has health care or not? do you have much more private sector oriented solution, which would allow some people not to have health care, which is what mitt romney wants when he wants to repeal obama care? both pieces really get at that very basic choice. i think those are the two central things here. how are we going to pay for a reduction in our debt in terms of our tax code, and number two, our health care system, which is both a matter of insuring people and also it's also a debt question. >> michael, is there any way to measure who picks up which copy in terms of who supports -- who gets more support this go-round? >> you know, i don't know the answer to that question. it's a gr

it was obama country during the last election, but with the one third independent voters made up much of suburban moms, is this a strategy that romney is going to be spending more time there later on today. how focused is he on colorado and trying to sway perhaps those one third independent voters? >> that's colorado and it's wisconsin and it's ohio and pennsylvania and all of the other states that are still in play. and the independent voters are indeed absolutely pivotal. each candidate want to make sure they get out their base, their base voters. when we look at the independent votes which is why we believe so strongly that governor romney will be the next president, we see high single and even double digit leads in the polls by romney and ryan. their job is to deliver the final message of optimism and hope in america and urging people to get out to the polls. >> let's talk about the independents because in the 2008 race, president obama, then candidate obama, was really able to appeal to the independents. in this case, it's not so cut and dry. what's the strategy or the focus as h

because that's how we run elections in this country. but it is -- it is very clear and it has been clear from day one that the president has had an easier way through the electoral college given the way the west and the midwest are these days. so there are some republicans who believe that there could be that kind of a split. personally i also believe that particularly given what you were showing there in the state of ohio that in these very close battleground states, it may take a lot longer just to count the ballots than we thought. so either we may not know until a long time perfect when the polls close or maybe not for a little bit. you know, days. >> yeah. >> we'll have to see. we could be sitting around for a while. >> in ohio's case it could be weeks with the whole provisional ballot thing. that is a whole other show that we talk about, two weeks until the 17th you may not know. we'll see much more of that. i'm sure you'll be covering it and we'll bring it to you from ohio. gloria, thank you. appreciate it. >> thank you. stay war
